A cinema journal that reads like paper.
When the product is editorial, every pixel is editorial too.
Obscura needed a digital cinema journal that felt tactile , not like a website, but like a publication you'd find in a Criterion Collection box. The challenge was translating the weight and grain of print into an interactive medium without losing performance.
We designed a bespoke type system layering variable serif with monospace marginalia, then built a custom scroll-driven reading experience with subtle paper-grain texture and precise typographic rhythm. Every transition was choreographed to feel like turning a page.
