§ Challenge
Kiln's founding team had the financial infrastructure figured out , but needed a product layer that artists would trust with their income. The UX had to make real-time settlement feel as natural as sending a message.
§ Solution
We built a TypeScript-first payments interface on top of their existing rail, with optimistic UI that shows settlement in real time. Edge-deployed globally, observable in production, and resilient to the kind of connection quality you'd get at an art fair.
§ Outcome
Zero payment errors at launch. Onboarded 200 artists in the first 48 hours. Backend latency P99 under 120ms globally.
